Like so many other mamas, I dreamed and struggled and persevered to welcome my two rainbow babies, Serenity and Luna, to my family. I also kept my head above the waves of the postpartum phase, maybe just like you.
I try, in everything I do, to embrace each phase of being a parent and appreciate the tiny, bright moments that make it all worth it. And that, I think, is worth celebrating.

MOTHERHOOD IS A JOURNEY
My photography has been too
The line from pediatric nursing to photography wasn’t exactly straight.
But what journey ever is? I grew up with a camera in hand, but my career started in pediatric nursing, specifically the PICU. If there’s a place that’s going to instill in you the importance of appreciating the moment you have, that’s it. (I’m still a nurse, now working in oncology clinical trials, and bring my experience to every photo session.)
After years of infertility, I picked a camera back up when I had my first daughter just to make sure I remembered how precious this gift of a family was to me.
But that unlocked something in me. When I was in 4th grade, I spent an afternoon with my beloved grandma playing around with her new digital camera. We took a bunch of photos together, laughed a lot, just hung out with each other. A brain aneurysm just a few days later took her from us — but because of the photos we took together, that memory still shines bright.
Those memories, my journey to motherhood, my work in the PICU … it all came together to make me realize the power of a moment and the way photography can preserve it.
Today, I bring all that to every family I serve in the OKC Metro.

Family is always my number one priority — these sweet babies of mine will only be little for so long, so I am intentional about being present. That means I only work with a set number of families each month and reserve my weekends for my own family. Setting boundaries means I can give my all to my photo families and own family equally.

I love working in my studio in the Wheeler District in downtown OKC, but there's nothing better than coming home each day to my home in the country. Give me a sky full of stars, the sounds of nature, and a glass of wine to end my evening.
