About Labor of Love Midwifery
Charlee Lacy has been passionate about the birth world for pretty much her entire life. Before she got her formal start as Labor of Love Midwifery, she was earning real-world experience. Two of her four births happened at her own home with the assistance of midwives. For years, she stayed home with her kids and homeschooled them before deciding it was time for her next career. She has been working as a midwife for over 20 years and has assisted hundreds of families with home births. She has also earned a Masters Degree in Nurse-Midwifery and has worked in several hospital settings. Her goal is to ensure that, above all else, you have the experience that is right for you.
Services
If you choose Labor of Love Midwifery for your home birth, you will purchase the birth package. She gives you several options for this, including payment plans and insurance reimbursement. She has two different offices: the “Big Office” and the “Little House.” Typically, your appointment will last around one hour, but you will be able to adjust this as needed. Throughout your regular visits, she will measure your baby, listen to their heart rate, monitor your vital signs, and discuss nutrition and exercise. Additionally, she is going to have thorough conversations with you regarding your birth plan. Her goal is to make sure you have all the information and the resources to make it a reality!
While some of her clients do opt to use a birth center, she usually assists at home. Once your labor begins, she will be by your side to ensure everything is progressing normally. She will offer both practical and physical support the entire time. Then, once your baby is born, she will stay around 2-4 hours to initiate the bond, help you shower, and get you fed. You will also have postpartum appointments following your birth.
Specialty
At Labor of Love Midwifery, you can also book well-woman visits for holistic care. Charlee can handle everything including physical exams, breast exams, pap smears, labs, and screenings. She will also be there for family planning services.
