When you have a younger kid, one of the best things you can do is find a playground you love. It will keep your house a little calmer and make for a positively awesome naptime. If you’re looking for the best place to let your little one get out some energy, I’d love to tell you about a few parks around Oklahoma City that you should check out. Whether you’re looking for a place to keep cool or want a new space for your mini-explorer, I think I have the perfect playground in OKC for you!
H.C. Schilling Park is the best place to go during the hot Oklahoma summers! This gorgeous park is stacked with tons of activities any family would love. The skate park is a great place to try out some tricks, while the rec center provides a gym and engaging classes.
The splash pad, however, is the best part of the entire place! The cement area is outfitted with colorful spigots and in-ground fountains so your child can cool off with friends. The pad has benches just outside of the water’s range. You’ll get to relax and stay dry while your child has a fun way to beat the heat!
Scissortail Park is maybe one of the coolest parks around. This gigantic urban space has long trails, pickleball courts, soccer fields, a skating rink, paddle boats, and even a high-quality burger spot! The playground is impressive, with artistic sculptures built for exploring.
Your little one can climb on top of a spider, play in a sand pit, or scale the monkey bars. The park features plenty of benches and is fairly well-contained with fencing and hilly barriers. The park also has huge metal tube slides that older kids will want to try out again and again. With so much to do, this park will be your family’s new favorite place!
Rotary Playground is your spot if you want a more classical play place. The ten-acre park was built in the 1940s to provide kids with a safe spot where they could play. Today, the playground contains several slides, a bridge, a tunnel, and multiple look-outs.
The structure has several benches surrounding it, and it’s small enough that you don’t have to worry about losing sight of your child. The playground is perfect for ages 3-8. Older kids will love the nearby baseball fields and the bike trails.
Trying out different parks is one of the best ways to keep your child active. You and your little one can have an unforgettable day with a playground in OKC!
